911 RSR Art Cars In Racing Liveries

Jon Gunderson has had a life long love of Porsches, owning his first at just 18 years old. Since then he has never been without one in his garage. Now he has created his perfect road going Porsche 911 RSR. Gunderson wanted to capture the iconic motorsports liveries that Porsche used on their most famous 917 race cars. A limited run of these incredible street cars will be built by Gunderson and his talented team in Escondido, California.

The Process

We start with a 1972 or 1973 911, which is then completely stripped including all the undercoating. They are then media blasted to prep them for the metal work. The metal work is done with handcrafted aluminum ducktails and hoods as well as steel bumpers and flares. There is no fiberglass used anywhere on these cars.

They are then media blasted again and get a coat of epoxy primer. Then they go to the paint shop where they are painted with Glasurit paint. The liveries are painted on and are not vinyl. After that it comes back to the shop for final assembly.

Essentially only the shell is used and every other part is upgraded, modified, or new.
